Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC)
The Multicultural Advisory Committee is a core component of the Joint Community Police Partnership (JCPP). The MAC is an engaged group of volunteers who advise the Crystal Police Department on how to better serve, communicate with, and understand the many cultures that reside in, work in, or visit the Crystal community. The MAC meets monthly with Police personnel to discuss topics that are important to their communities, build mutual trust, and open up two-way communication.
MAC members represent the diverse cultural, professional, educational etc., backgrounds in Crystal. We ask members to tap into their various skillsets and networks as part of their work in MAC; engage with neighbors, coworkers, students, clients or anyone else to learn how MAC can make progress on police community relations.

Crystal Crime Prevention Board

The Crystal Police Explorers (VIDEO) is a volunteer organization chartered through the Boy Scouts consisting of males and females between the ages of 15 and 20. Explorers are given the chance to "explore" law enforcement with plenty of hands-on participation.

Reserve Unit

Members of the Crystal Police Reserve Unit are non-sworn volunteers who assist the Crystal Police Department with civic and police-related duties within the limitations set forth by state statutes and local ordinances.
Unlike sworn peace officers, reserve officers are not licensed by the MN POST Board to enforce the criminal laws of the State of Minnesota.
Reserve officers wear uniforms that are slightly different than licensed police officers and are not allowed to carry firearms.
Reserve officers volunteer for have many reasons: Some are interested in furthering their law enforcement career while others look to serve their community.
